We study the entanglement for a state on linked torus boundaries in 3d Chern-Simons theory with a generic gauge group and present the asymptotic bounds of R\'enyi entropy at two different limits: (i) large Chern-Simons coupling k, and (ii) large rank r of the gauge group. These results show that the R\'enyi entropies cannot diverge faster than lnk and lnr, respectively. We focus on torus links T(2,2n) with topological linking number n. The R\'enyi entropy for these links shows a periodic structure in n and vanishes whenever n=0 (mod p), where the integer p is a function of coupling k and rank r. We highlight that the refined Chern-Simons link invariants can remove such a periodic structure in n.

We identify the Kontsevich-Penner matrix integral, for finite size n, with the isomonodromic tau function of a 3×3 rational connection on the Riemann sphere with n Fuchsian singularities placed in correspondence with the eigenvalues of the external field of the matrix integral. By formulating the isomonodromic system in terms of an appropriate Riemann-Hilbert boundary value problem, we can pass to the limit n→∞ (at a formal level) and identify an isomonodromic system in terms of the Miwa variables, which play the role of times of a KP-like hierarchy. This allows to derive the String and Dilaton equations via a purely Riemann-Hilbert approach.
The expression of the formal limit of the partition function as an isomonodromic tau function allows us to derive explicit closed formul\ae\ for the correlators of this matrix model in terms of the solution of the Riemann-Hilbert problem with all times set to zero. These correlators have been conjectured to describe the intersection numbers for Riemann surfaces with boundaries, or open intersection numbers.

We study how exotic branes, i.e. branes whose tensions are proportional to g−αs, with α>2, are realised in Exceptional Field Theory (EFT). The generalised torsion of the Weitzenbock connection of the SL(5) EFT which, in the language of gauged supergravity describes the embedding tensor, is shown to classify the exotic branes whose magnetic fluxes can fit into four internal dimensions. By analysing the weight diagrams of the corresponding representations of SL(5) we determine the U-duality orbits relating geometric and non-geometric fluxes. As a further application of the formalism we consider the Kaluza-Klein monopole of 11D supergravity and rotate it into the exotic 53-brane.

We show that mock automorphic forms obtained from weak harmonic Maa{\ss} forms give rise to nontrivial (g,K)-cohomology, providing evidence for replacing the `holomorphic' condition with `cohomological' when generalizing to general reductive groups. We note that such a candidate allows for growing Fourier coefficients, in contrast to automorphic forms under the Miatello-Wallach conjecture. The second part of this note surveys the connection with BPS black hole counts as a physical motivation for introducing mock automorphic forms.

Interpolated multiple q-zeta values are deformation of multiple q-zeta values with one parameter, t, and restore classical multiple zeta values as t=0 and q→1. In this paper, we discuss generating functions for sum of interpolated multiple q-zeta values with fixed weight, depth and i-height. The functions are systematically expressed in terms of the basic hypergeometric functions. Compared with the result of Ohno and Zagier, our result includes three generalizations: general height, q-deformation and t-interpolation. As an application, we prove some expected relations for interpolated multiple q-zeta values including sum formulas.

Vafa-Witten (VW) theory is a topologically twisted version of N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. S-duality suggests that the partition function of VW theory with gauge group SU(N) transforms as a modular form under duality transformations. Interestingly, Vafa and Witten demonstrated the presence of a modular anomaly, when the theory has gauge group SU(2) and is considered on the complex projective plane P2. This modular anomaly could be expressed as an integral of a modular form, and also be traded for a holomorphic anomaly. We demonstrate that the modular anomaly for gauge group SU(3) involves an iterated integral of modular forms. Moreover, the modular anomaly for SU(3) can be traded for a holomorphic anomaly, which is shown to factor into a product of the partition functions for lower rank gauge groups. The SU(3) partition function is mathematically an example of a mock modular form of depth two.

Reflection states are introduced in the vertical and horizontal modules of the Ding-Iohara-Miki (DIM) algebra (quantum toroidal gl1). Webs of DIM representations are in correspondence with (p,q)-web diagrams of type IIB string theory, under the identification of the algebraic intertwiner of Awata, Feigin and Shiraishi with the refined topological vertex. Extending the correspondence to the vertical reflection states, it is possible to engineer the N=1 quiver gauge theory of D-type (with unitary gauge groups). In this way, the Nekrasov instanton partition function is reproduced from the evaluation of expectation values of intertwiners. This computation leads to the identification of the vertical reflection state with the orientifold plane of string theory.
