We study the inclusion system of the quantum deformed 2 dimensional Yang-Mills root module to the graded root module of the U-dual modular group. The irreducible representation of the U-dual modular group is the quantum deformed black brane throat. We expose the isomorphism between coherent superposition of the topological amplitude and the space of the automorphic forms of the U-dual modular group.

Cone Vertex Algebras, Mock Theta Functions, and Umbral Moonshine Modules
arXiv:2203.03052
Miranda C. N. Cheng, Gabriele Sgroi
We describe a family of indefinite theta functions of signature (1,1) that can be expressed in terms of trace functions of vertex algebras built from cones in lattices. The family of indefinite theta functions considered has interesting connections with mock theta functions and Appell-Lerch sums. We use these relations to write the McKay-Thompson series of umbral moonshine at lambency ℓ=8,12,16 in terms of trace functions of vertex algebras modules, and thereby provide the modules for these instances of umbral moonshine.

Crystal Melting, BPS Quivers and Plethystics

Jiakang Bao, Yang-Hui He, Ali Zahabi
We study the refined and unrefined crystal/BPS partition functions of D6-D2-D0 brane bound states for all toric Calabi-Yau threefolds without compact 4-cycles and some non-toric examples. They can be written as products of (generalized) MacMahon functions. We check our expressions and use them as vacuum characters to study the gluings. We then consider the wall crossings and discuss possible crystal descriptions for different chambers. We also express the partition functions in terms of plethystic exponentials. For C3 and tripled affine quivers, we find their connections to Kac polynomials. Similarly, the partition functions of D4-D2-D0 brane bound states can be obtained by replacing the (generalized) MacMahon functions with the inverse of (generalized) Euler functions.
M2-branes and q-Painlevé equations

In this paper we investigate a novel connection between the effective theory of M2-branes on (C2/Z2×C2/Z2)/Zk and the q-deformed Painlevé equations, by proposing that the grand canonical partition function of the corresponding four-nodes circular quiver N=4 Chern-Simons matter theory solves the q-Painlevé VI equation. We analyse how this describes the moduli space of the topological string on local dP5 and, via geometric engineering, five dimensional Nf=4 SU(2) N=1 gauge theory on a circle. The results we find extend the known relation between ABJM theory, q-Painlevé III3, and topological strings on local P1×P1. From the mathematical viewpoint the quiver Chern-Simons theory provides a conjectural Fredholm determinant realisation of the q-Painlevé VI τ-function. We provide evidence for this proposal by analytic and numerical checks and discuss in detail the successive decoupling limits down to Nf=0, corresponding to q-PainlevéIII3.
Imaginary reflections and discrete symmetries in the heterotic Monster
arXiv:2202.09720
Lisa Carbone, Natalie M. Paquette
Let M be the Monster finite simple group. We give an interpretation of certain discrete symmetries of a family of heterotic string compactifications to 1+1 dimensions in terms of discrete symmetries of the Monster Lie algebra m, and more generally Carnahan's family of Monstrous Lie algebras mg, for g∈M of Fricke type. We show that a discrete symmetry of a supersymmetric index Z which counts (with signs) the number of spacetime BPS-states in 1+1 dimensions can be described in terms of the Weyl group and extended Weyl group of m. This allows us to realize the extended Weyl group as a group of T-dualities of the heterotic models.

We study correlation functions of the characteristic polynomials in coupled matrix models based on the Schur polynomial expansion, which manifests their determinantal structure.
